About the Role
As a Senior Staff Software Engineer in the Freight team, you will be a technical leader building the core systems that power GHN Heavy’s next growth engine: B2B transportation. You will design and deliver critical platform capabilities such as dispatch planning, linehaul/last-mile execution, capacity & fleet management, routing & scheduling optimization, real-time tracking, and operational control towers—with reliability and performance at scale.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will own end-to-end outcomes: shaping architecture, writing production code, ensuring operational excellence (SLOs, observability, incident response), and mentoring engineers. You’ll work closely with Product, Operations, Data, and other engineering teams to turn real-world constraints (vehicle types, hubs, cut-off times, service levels, traffic, depot capacity) into scalable software.
If you enjoy solving complex optimization and distributed-system problems that directly impact cost, delivery performance, and customer trust—this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of logistics products include but are not limited to the first-mile, last-mile, warehouse, sorting, and transportation, …
- Design and implement route optimization algorithms (Multi-Depot Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows (MDVRPTW) or Two-Echelon Vehicle Routing Problem (2E-VRP)) to assign trucks and schedule goods transportation.
- Integrate the system with geographic data (GPS, Google Maps API) to calculate distances and travel times.
- Work with optimization libraries such as OR-Tools, Pyomo, or metaheuristic algorithms (Genetic Algorithm, Simulated Annealing). (nice to have)
- Build open API features for core logistics products
- Performance tuning, online incidents troubleshooting, and system refactoring
- Write high-quality, clean, and maintainable code using engineering best practices
- Work in an Agile & collaborative environment involving different stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience with full lifecycle of project development for Golang Applications
- Extensive experience in software design, architecture, development integration
- Knowledge of optimization algorithms (VRP, Genetic Algorithm, Ant Colony Optimization, etc.).
- Solid knowledge of event processing models, parallel programming, multi-threading, enterprise integration pattern, Socket, Web Service, and REST
- Proficient in distributed databases, and familiar with at least one NoSQL DB
- Distributed Caching such as Redis
- Familiar with Microservices, event-driven architecture.
- Good cross-team communication skills
The following skills would be nice to have
- Experience with mobile app (optional)
- Experience with big-data technologies such as Apache Kafka, and OLAP
- Knowing how to work with Docker, K8S or cloud services, e.g GCP, AWS... is a big plus
Featured benefits include
- 13th-month salary, performance bonuses, and KPI bonuses
- Health, Social, and Unemployment Insurance
