About the Role
As a Senior/ Software Engineer (Freight) in the Freight team, you will build the backend systems that power GHN Heavy’s core logistics products and support our expansion into B2B transportation. You will design and deliver platform capabilities across first-mile, last-mile, warehouse, sorting, and transportation, including secure Open APIs, event-driven services, and high-throughput integrations that keep operations running smoothly at scale.
This is a hands-on engineering role with strong ownership. You will contribute to end-to-end outcomes: implementing scalable microservices, writing production-grade code, improving system performance, and maintaining operational excellence through observability, incident troubleshooting, and continuous reliability improvements. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Operations, Data, and other engineering teams to translate real-world constraints (service levels, cut-off times, warehouse capacity, fleet utilization, traffic conditions) into practical, maintainable software.
If you enjoy building reliable distributed systems, optimizing performance, and shipping backend features that directly impact delivery speed, cost efficiency, and customer trust—this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of logistics products include but are not limited to the first-mile, last-mile, warehouse, sorting, and transportation, …
- Design and implement scalable microservices/event-driven backend architecture, including service boundaries, data models, and integration patterns
- Build and maintain open API features for core logistics products, ensuring security, versioning, and backward compatibility
- Ensure production reliability through performance tuning, capacity planning, end-to-end observability (logs/metrics/tracing), online incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis/postmortems, and continuous follow-up improvements
